Which Is God's Church?
Where is God’s Church? How do we find it?

The Constant Church of God presents clear answers to your questions, directly from the Bible!
Let’s open our Bibles and begin our search for God’s true Church.
How will we know that it is the true Church of God?
The Bible provides a clear answer to this vital question.
We can begin with Who founded God’s Church.
Notice Matthew chapter 16 and verse 18.
18 And I say unto you, That you are Peter, and upon this Rock I will build My Church…
That was Jesus Christ speaking.
And notice He said My Church. Singular.
He did not say Churches!
So then, somewhere on this earth there is the one, true Church of God founded by Jesus Christ!
What is it called?
The churches of this world call themselves by various names.
Presbyterian. Lutheran. Baptist. Catholic.
But what is the name of the Church Jesus founded?
We find the answer in John chapter 17.
Where Jesus prayed to the Father for His Church.
Verse 11.
11. . .Holy Father, keep through Your own name those whom you have given me, that they may be one, as we are.
12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. . .
Jesus said His true Church was to be kept in the name of His Father.
And the Father’s name is God!
It is God’s Church. And Jesus Christ is its guiding, sustaining, directing Head.
Twelve times in the New Testament, the name of this one true Church is the Church of God!
Notice what Paul wrote in First Corinthians chapter 15 and verse 9.
9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
Now, turn back to chapter one of First Corinthians.
Where one specific local congregation is mentioned, the true Church is also called “The Church of God.”
Often using the place or location.
First Corinthians chapter 1 and verse 2.
2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth. . .
When speaking of the local congregations collectively, not as one general body, but as the total of all local congregations, the Bible refers to God’s Church as “The Churches of God.”
Turn to First Thessalonians chapter 2 and verse 14.
14 “For you, brethren, became followers of the Churches of God, which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus.”
Just like the human body is one body with different members!
Notice First Corinthians chapter 12 and verse 12.
12 For as the body is one, and has many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
13 For by one Spirit we are all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
14 For the body is not one member, but many.
Clearly, the Church of God is not divided. It is one Church.
Now then, why the Church?
God always does things for a purpose.
And God intended His Church to become the means, the instrumentality for working out that purpose!
However, mankind has been blinded by Satan the devil to God’s grand and supreme purpose.
So, Jesus Christ came to the earth with a message from His Father.
That message was the good news announcing the soon-coming Kingdom of God.
A new civilization. A new age. A new world.
God’s world.
The world tomorrow that will replace Satan’s world today.
From a world of war, strife, hatred and religious confusion — to God’s world of peace, unity, harmony and prosperity.
All things beautiful, clean, right and good.
The abundant life for ever!
How did Jesus start God’s Church?
He started with 12 disciples, meaning students.
To whom Jesus taught the doctrines of the Church.
And, more importantly, He gave them an assignment.
And what was that assignment?
Turn to Matthew chapter 24 and verse 14.
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
God knew that to accomplish this task His Church would need the help of God’s Holy Spirit.
So on the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit was poured out on about 120 followers gathered in an upper room at Jerusalem.
And despite horrible persecution, that Church has continued down through the centuries to our day today.
Jesus Christ promised He would never abandon His Church.
So God’s Church will always exist!
Who then is the Church of God?
The Church of God is made up of those called out of Satan’s way of life into God’s way of life.
Their lives serve as a testimony to the truth they learnt from the teachings of the Old Testament prophets, the apostles and Jesus Christ the Head of the Church.
God’s Church does not try to convert anyone because it is God the Father Who does the calling.
Jesus Christ Himself said, “No man can come to Me unless the Father draws him.”
The apostle Paul, under the inspiration of God, describes God’s Church as the “pillar and the ground of the truth.”
That means the Church of God supports, upholds and defends the Truth of God.
Every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
The Bible!
God’s Church is the Church that is built on the truth of the Bible.
And there is only one such Church!
And it is organized. Well knit and joined together.
It is government from the top down.
With God at the very top. Followed by Jesus Christ. And then the human leader whom They have designated to administer the Church and coordinate the work of God.
The Church of God is that body of believers who are called by the name of God.
Those who keep the truth God revealed and are led by Jesus Christ, the Head of the Church.
Continuing in doctrine, practice, organization, in the original biblical pattern; headed by Jesus Christ, yet belonging to God the Father; empowered by the Holy Spirit; having God’s Truth; fulfilling Christ’s commission of proclaiming His good news of the Kingdom of God to the whole world as a witness.
This — is the one, true Church of God!
