What is the true gospel?

Most professing Christians today believe they have heard the true gospel.

At Sunday services, they hear their church pastor preach that all they need to do is believe in Jesus Christ, accept His sacrifice and give their hearts to the Lord.

And now, they’re saved.  They’re going to heaven.

They hear their church band playing gospel music, and their church choir singing gospel songs.

And they believe they’ve heard the true gospel.

They’re convinced they know the gospel Jesus Christ brought.

But is this the true gospel?

To find out what the true gospel is, we’re going to turn to the word of God.

And what does the Bible say?

The Bible says that when Jesus Christ came the first time, He came as a messenger with a message from God Almighty to all of mankind.

It was a vital and sensational news announcement for the future, when all of the human anguish, all of the evils that beset us, all of the wars, all of the frustrations, and all of the failures will end.

That was Christ’s gospel.

That’s what the word gospel means.  Good news!

The good news of the soon-coming Kingdom of God!

But that message was suppressed.

Replaced with a mixed and confusing message ABOUT Christ the messenger instead of the message He announced.

Christ’s gospel message contains the most astonishing announcement in all of human history that a time is coming, when this world — this present age, this civilization — under the sway and influence of Satan the devil will be replaced with God’s world.

When Adam rejected God and decided to go his own way, God condemned man to 6 thousand years of anguish and misery, turmoil and suffering which are the inevitable consequences of that flawed and disastrous decision.

Over the years, it’s gotten progressively worse.

And it will get so bad that mankind is going to face the grim prospect of total annihilation.

That’s what Satan wants.

But God will not allow it. He will intervene.  He will send Christ back to this earth before that happens.

The Bible says that before Satan became disgruntled and resentful, he was Lucifer the archangel, whom God sent to administer the government of God on this earth.

Instead of following God’s instructions, Lucifer, together with a third of the angels under his command, instigated a revolt against God.

But they were resoundingly defeated and cast back down to the earth.

And so Lucifer became Satan the devil.  The enemy.  The adversary.  And his angels became demons.

At the moment, Satan continues to sit on the throne of the government of God on the earth until a successor qualifies to replace him.

The first man Adam had failed.

So Jesus Christ, the second Adam, came to the earth to qualify and replace Satan.

In the 4th chapter of Matthew, Christ defeats Satan in a titanic battle ever fought for the greatest stakes in the entire universe.

THE BATTLE FOR THE THRONE OF THE WHOLE EARTH!

And so Satan was disqualified to administer God's government over the earth. However, it is a principle of God that a government must never be without a head.

Consequently, Satan was to remain on that throne until Jesus Christ — who has now qualified to rule — is inducted into office.

Having vanquished Satan, Christ then announced the message of the soon-coming Kingdom of God.

Now then, what is the Kingdom of God?

The Bible tells us exactly what it is.

We rely on the Bible to tell us because it is the inspired word of God.  It is the ONE and ONLY, perfect, indisputable source of truth.

And what does the Bible say?

The Kingdom of God will be right here on the earth.  Not in heaven as so many have been led to believe.

Neither is it some vague, sentimental, heart-tugging, spiritualized idea that exists in men’s hearts.

NO, NOT AT ALL!

The Kingdom of God is a real, literal kingdom.

It is the government of God that rules over the whole earth!

The return of Jesus Christ will be a pivotal event in all of human history.

From that point on, everything pivots.

Everything changes.

The government of God in the Kingdom of God will be restored on the earth.

A new civilization will now be established. Amazing changes will occur.

There will be a top to bottom overhaul of this world’s corrupt systems spearheaded by the saints of God under the direct supervision of Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords.

Satan will be banished and locked up. The world he has influenced will be dismantled completely.

Replaced with a new world.

God’s world. The world tomorrow.

Jesus will START A BETTER CIVILIZATION! Better than anything we can even imagine.

This is real! NOT SOME IDLE PIPE DREAM.

This is the true gospel.

The good news of a coming utopia.

The good news of the soon-coming Kingdom of God.

The message from God the Father that Jesus Christ Himself brought to this sin-afflicted world.

It is the best news ever, and today you have heard it.
